Filming yourself with a tremor or shaky hands
By Con, founder of Music Wide Selfie · Updated 22 October 2026
Short answerDon’t hold the phone: use a stand, clamp or mount. Start recording hands-free with a remote, Voice Control or a timer. For handheld moments, use stronger stabilisation like Action mode and hold the phone close to your body.
Fixed setups
- A weighted desk stand.
- A clamp on a table edge.
- A tripod with a phone holder.
Hands-free start
- Bluetooth remote with a large button.
- Voice Control.
- Back Tap.
- Apple Watch.
Touch settings
Settings › Accessibility › Touch › Touch Accommodations can ignore repeated touches and adjust hold duration.
Questions
Can editing fix shaky video?
Stabilisation in editors helps a little, but a stand works far better.
