Filming yourself from a wheelchair
By Con, founder of Music Wide Selfie · Updated 22 October 2026
Short answerUse a wheelchair-compatible phone mount or a clamp arm, set the lens at your eye level, and start recording with a remote, voice or timer. Film from slightly above eye level for talking videos, and from a distance for full-chair shots.
Mounts
- Wheelchair phone mounts that attach to frames or armrests.
- Flexible clamp arms.
- A tripod at seated eye height.
Angles
- Eye level for talking.
- Wider and further back to include the chair and setting.
Hands-free
Voice Control, Switch Control, a remote or Apple Watch.
Questions
Can I film while moving?
Use a secure mount and stabilisation like Action mode, and keep safety first.
